Frequently Asked Questions

Contributing with or without account

Our Card Payment system allows for submitting contributions with or without user account creation. Creating a user account allows you to easily access your contribution information and manage recurring contributions via secure login.

The system also has the option of submitting contributions without creating an account by not checking the create account option. In order to access contribution history and manage recurring contributions without an account, email verification using the exact same email used to submit the contribution is needed.

In order to verify your email you should visit the Recurring Subscriptions page or the Contribution History page. here you will be asked to provide your email. After submitting your email you should receive an email verification message in your email inbox.

Click the email verification link and you will be provided temporary access to review your recurring subscription and contribution history as well as access to cancelling any active subscriptions.

The emails our system send may end up in other folders in your email system like updates folders for gmail or spam/junk folders depending on your email providers spam settings. You may need to review these folder and whitelist our emails as “not spam” or move these emails manually out of your spam or junk folders if they ended up here.

I had a problem contributing

We apologize for the inconvenience. If you are able please retry your contribution via our legacy payment system which is still fully functional and secure. Please visit https://islamqa.info/en/legacy-contribution/ in order to use our legacy contribution system.

Please also feel free to send us feedback about the problem you have faced in attempting to contribute. Visit our Contact Us page and send your feedback there.

If you are able to describe the steps you had taken and at which point the problem start as well as letting us know which error messages appeared on the screen or any other indication of the problem from what you saw.

My card was not accepted

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your willingness to contribute.

Our payment systems rely on existing payment gateways. Unfortunately we don’t have any control over which cards are accepted or not and there is little we can do if a card is not accepted by these systems.

The PayPal and Stripe Payment gateways we use may not accept payments from certain countries which we are unable to influence.

If you have entered you card details correctly, you have funds available and your card is open to making international payments of this type, it could be that your bank does not allow such payments for your card type or your bank has blocked the payment for their own reasons.

We apologise for the inconvenience and we ask Allah to reward you for your intention.

Can I pay using another method?

Unfortunately the available methods of paying via PayPal or Credit/Debit Card enabled by the stripe payment gateway are the only methods we are able to provide currently.

We don’t have the ability to support any other payment methods at this time. We also don’t have the facility for collecting payments in other forms at this time.

Have you received my contribution?

If you have received an email notification confirming receipt of your contribution whether directly from us or from PayPal, that should be sufficient to ensure you we have received your contribution.

You may need to allow for some time for your bank account to reflect transaction based on your bank’s timeframe for reflecting such payments. If you have made a payment using PayPal this should reflect immediately.

If you still require positive confirmation from us, please submit a query via our contact us page containing the exact same name and email address you used to submit your contribution. We will attempt to verify whether we have received your payment and reply with confirmation in-shaa-Allah.

I submitted a recurring subscription payment, how do I manage it.

Recurring subscriptions can be viewed and managed via the Recurring Subscriptions page.

Depending on whether you had created an account when submitting your recurring subscription or whether you submitted your payment without creating an account, you may need to either login if you have an account or verify your email if you had not created an account.

After submitting a successful payment with the create an account option checked, you should have received a New User Registration email from us.

Once logged in you would be able to access your list of contributions if any, including recurring ones and manage them from there.

If you had submitted a payment with the create account option unchecked, you will need to visit the Recurring Subscriptions page, submit a request for email verification using the exact same email you used when submitting your payment.

You will receive a verification email with a link which provides you limited access to your contribution history and recurring subscriptions.

I can’t cancel my subscription on your system what should I do?

If you have already attempted to manage your subscription and faced any problem doing so, please send us a message via our contact us page and mention the steps you have attempted to perform.

Please ensure to use the same email address you used to make your subscription contribution. Include the exact same name used when making your subscription contribution. Please ensure to specify whether you have used PayPal or Card Payment option. Please also mention the date your subscription contribution was originally submitted to help us locate it in our systems.

We will review any active subscription contributions and request confirmation from the specified email. Once we have received positive confirmation we will cancel on your behalf. Once cancelled we will inform you via the email related to the subscription contribution in-shaa-Allah.

I see an access token error message

Access tokens are created by the payment system to control access to your contribution history and prevent unauthorised access to your data. When requesting access to contribution history, you will be asked to verify you email. Once you have submitted this email verification request an access token is created which is emailed to you and has a limited lifespan.

If however, you attempt to access contribution history without using the access token link sent to your email while your access token is still active, you may see access token errors. In this case please try to access your contribution history or recurring subscriptions via the link emailed to you.

If this still causes problems you may need to clear your browser’s cookies and attempt to re-verify your email again to receive a new access token via email.

After following the procedures listed above should you still experience problems please contact us via our contact us page by providing us the details of the problems you have experienced as well as your name and email used to submit your contributions.
